My husband and I went to the Level 1 training at Bushcraft at the River, and we honestly loved every minute of it! We learned so many useful skills and had a blast doing it. The instructor was amazing—super patient, knowledgeable, and really good at making everything fun and easy to follow.

We both have some physical limitations, and the instructor went out of his way to make sure we could fully participate without overdoing it. That meant a lot to us.

If you’ve ever wanted to try bushcraft or just spend a weekend outdoors learning cool, practical stuff, we can’t recommend this place enough.

This was the BEST time. Learned a lot, met new friends, and did things I never thought I would be able to. I made FIRE…. With a bow drill that I made. It was difficult but what an AMAZING feeling when I finally got it. Wow!

What a CONFIDENCE BUILDER.

We also made fire with flint and char. (We also got to make the char) We learned about water purifiers.

It rained, it POURED, but my shelter and all my stuff dry as a whistle with a shelter I was taught to make. Morris is an GREAT, knowledgeable ( and patient) instructor and the site is absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend this experience and will continue on to next levels. This beautiful facility also has a few cabins to rent if you’re not quite ready for the survival course. Beautiful heart healing testimonies on Sunday morning by the river. One of my cherished memories and I hope to create more. Go check them out. You will not regret it!

I learned so much and loved meeting new people and learning together how to make tarp shelters, build fires, treat water to safely drink and different knots for different purposes. It was a fun weekend and Morris is an awesome teacher and his passion and love of spending time outdoors is contagious. I want to learn more!
